How To Boost Up Your Computer

By Frank Lozano

Whenever your laptop begins to become slow what do you do? Should you try and find ways to make it faster, or should you assume that it's outdated and give thought to purchasing a different one? You don't have to be throwing your hard earned money away. By following these tips you can make your laptop run faster without needing to splash your cash.

Among the most common mistakes is to keep all of your information on your laptop. It is not necessary to keep everything on there. If you use an external storage device, you will relieve your machine from going through an excessive amount of unnecessary information. By utilizing an external storage device, not only will you have a backup of your information, but your laptop will run smoother when its storage device isn't close to full. It's helpful to sometimes reset your computer to its box preference; by having an external hard drive will ensure that you have got all of your information.

The next tip is to regularly assess the programs that you have got on your computer, and do away with any you don't need. They will only occupy space that can be well used to help keep your laptop running fast. However, you cannot just delete the computer program, you will need to uninstall it correctly and remove any linked files.

Do you have more than one antivirus? If you do, it's likely that your computer is running slowly. Pick one antivirus and stick with it, having multiple programs running in the background at all times will make your personal computer clunky and slow. You do not need more than one antivirus, choose one that actually works and stick with it. If you happen to read this, and you decide to uninstall an antivirus, be sure you get it done properly. There are lots of free online softwares that will help you uninstall your antivirus and make sure that there are no ghost files left in your system.

Another weapon in your laptop arsenal is your ability to keep your machine up to date with all the software patches that it needs. Once in a while your personal computer will tell you that there are updates readily available for the programs that you use. Be sure you always accept these updates and you'll find that your computer doesn't stall as quickly.
